About Just Majority

The Just Majority is composed of six talented freshmen at the Manhattan School of Music. They met in the Fall of 2022, began playing together frequently, and very quickly formed a strong musical and interpersonal bond. The group’s unique instrumentation (Trumpet, Vibraphone, Guitar, Piano, Bass Drums) and creative individual voices coupled with original compositions present a fresh new sound that builds upon the foundations of the jazz tradition. Members of the band are alumni of institutes and programs such as the Vail Jazz Workshop, NYO Jazz, Next-Gen Jazz Orchestra, and the Herbie Hancock Institute National Peer to Peer Tour, and have also won awards from many prestigious organizations including YoungArts, Downbeat Student Music Awards, and Essentially Ellington.
